Be part of Hertford 2030
Hertford 2030 is everything that makes our college unique. Your support at any level makes a real difference to our ability to carry out our objectives without interruption: academic excellence; pioneering access, sustainability and opportunity; community and citizenship; and world-class facilities. We have three separate funds you can donate to, or there is the opportunity to give more generally; please read on to find out more.
The Opportunity Fund is at the core of our work. It funds our outreach work, which enables us to attract bright young individuals from some of the country’s most under-represented groups, and bursaries to ensure that no one is put off by the cost of higher education. It funds scholarships that bring talented students from around the world, and it provides crucial hardship funds to support our students in times of need. A gift to Hertford’s Opportunity Fund is the gift of education to generations.
The Foundation Fund helps us to provide world-class facilities to match our academic ambitions, and an exceptional experience for students. It covers teaching and research at all levels, as well as the extra-curricular life of the college. The next ten years will see Hertford embarking on an extensive and ambitious capital programme, transforming our historic Catte Street site and bringing improvements across the Hertford estate. Our most ambitious project to date will the library redevelopment, which will be open and welcoming; a place of opportunity.
The Future Fund will support all of our Hertford 2030 values, preserving the college for generations to come. Hertford’s Future Fund will create a sustainable fundraising model for the college, and allow Hertford’s ethos of diversity, outreach, and inclusivity to thrive in perpetuity. This flexible fund will underpin every aspect of college life, allowing us to future proof against any unforeseen circumstances that may arise.
The Future Fund includes the Sustainability Fund, which supports our efforts to reduce carbon emissions and increase our biodiversity.
